If you don’t want a hot beverage, then this is going to be perfect since you can create a cold one by knowing how much coffee per cup to add. Ensure that you are grinding the beans into a coarse texture or that you are purchasing one that is ground especially for cold brew. This will help to keep the ground beans out of your final brew and will make it much easier for you to strain them after the steeping process is completed. The normal measurement for this type of brew is 1 cup of ground ...

This association is known, among other things, as a developer of the Golden ratio – a rule that enables everyone to brew a perfect cup of coffee. Generally, the coffee to water ratio should be between 1:15 and 1:18. In simple terms, it means that you should add one gram of coffee for every 15 -18 ml of water. In terms of how much ground coffee to use per cup, SCAA claims that if you are following the American standard, you need 0.36 ounces or 10 grams of coffee per 6 ounces (180 ml) cup ...

Which roughly works out as 2 tablespoons of coffee per cup, and 8 tablespoons of coffee per large 1 Liter/32 oz french press. Some French presses class 4 oz as a single cup but this is bananas to me, I’d just be getting into a cup of coffee as it was finished with a coffee that small.

For every six ounces of coffee, you will need about two tablespoons of ground coffee. This is around 0.38 ounces or 10.6 grams of whole coffee beans. If you are making more than one cup, just adjust to as much as you need. If you don’t have a digital scale, you can grind beans until you have two full tablespoons of ground beans.

While you’re waiting for the water to boil, use that time to prepare everything else – three tablespoons of ground coffee, a cup, your single-cup drip coffee cone, and a filter to match. The drip coffee cone goes on top of your mug, while the coffee goes inside the paper filter. Once the water starts to boil, it’s time to make coffee.

You'll use about 1 cup (240 ml) of water to brew your coffee, but you need the other.25 cups (59 ml) cup of water for rinsing out the filter. Once it comes to a boil, remove the kettle from the heat and place it on a heat-safe surface. It needs to sit for about 60 seconds before you start using it.

To figure how much coffee you need for a desired volume, just divide your goal by the larger number in the ratio. For example, if you want to brew 1 liter at a 1:16 ratio, you would divide 1000 (that’s how many grams of water you want) by 16. That would give you 62.5. That’s 62.5 grams of coffee for 1000 grams of water, a 1 to 16 ratio.

You should cold brew coffee for about 16 hours. After the first 8 hours the caffeine is infused into the water, and the more you let it sit the more flavor will be extracted from the ground coffee. The first 8 hours are when the caffeine in your coffee is extracted, no more will steep after that.

A little goes a long way, too: Cold-brewing concentrates the flavor, so it's typically diluted 50/50 with water, milk, ice cubes, or other liquids. And unlike hot-brewed coffee, which tastes drastically different after it cools, cold-brewed's flavor doesn't change, which means you can keep a stash in the fridge for up to two weeks.
